"my kids learned how to read by making up songs with me"
Homeschooling Mom of Dylan Wildfire and Garcia Rayn, Amanda "Panda" Duquette has been making music and magic with kids since she was a kid herself. With a background and degree in Dance, Amanda is from a family of performers and thrives in her element. Her songs "Funky Monkey" and "Bad Day" were co-written with her children and she has always used music as a tool for teaching.
Professional dancer and choreographer, singer and songwriter, she has performed internationally as a solo artist and activist.
Amanda is the creatress of the non-profit Music and Magic of Maine, gifting musical instruments and creative opportunities to families in Maine since 2009.
"making music with kids is such a natural thing to do"
Rob is dad to Luke and Stella who are his inspiration for writing music that would not only serve children but parents as well!
Multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, composer, founder/leader of the band “duquette” Rob was a long time sideman during the 1990's on drums, xylophone, guitar, and vocals.
A skilled music instructor, composer, and arranger, his work reflects the versatility and eclectic musical range that has brought him and his music around the country. Rob toured with Jonathan Edwards, and has performed alongside Jack Sonni of Dire Straits, recorded and shared the stage with the Grammy winning Dave Gutter, and with legendary composer David Amram among many other great artists including his current bandmates. Rick says:
"Rob Duquette is a friend of mine. Go to one of his concerts and without a doubt, he will be your friend too. What can I say? Rob lives and breathes music. Like me, he's a kid at heart. He brings out the best in children. The songs he writes and sings, you are going to want to sing too. They teach but don't preach. Some of them are simply fun. You'll surely be singing and dancing along. You will love the instruments he plays as well; he plays lots of them too. You will not want the show to end. But when it's over, you will leave the show with songs in your heart and a whole lot of love.
Hey, maybe I might even see you there."

Biddeford Youth Arts Scholarship fund (a Heart of Biddeford 501(c)(3) initiative) strives to remove financial barriers for children and youth eager to explore arts enrichment opportunities. Scholarships support visual art, dance, theater, and music lessons. Scholarships will cover tuition for community-based arts education in Biddeford, Maine.
While Biddeford is experiencing a cultural renaissance, many families still face economic challenges that make arts programming inaccessible. We believe that cost shouldn't hinder creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. Yet, local arts classes often require fees that are out of reach for many families. This program ensures that all children-regardless of household income can benefit from the confidence, skill-building, community connections, and personal fulfillment that arts participation fosters. This scholarship program directly invests in Biddeford's next generation of artists, performers, and creative thinkers, making the arts a real option for every kid, not just those who can afford it.
